In most places, gold has proven of value. I've been accumulating it in the last two ports. In London, I could gamble underground thanks to my memory enhancements and then exchanged it for gold before I left. The source of the gold in the last one was obvious.

If the next port seems to find it a valuable commodity I might want some items, things that can't be removed as weapons but may be useful for ingredients. Supervised they may be a little more difficult to get aboard the barge.

That is if the risk is worth the reward. It's not one worth taking until the results would be worth it.
